Rail services

Lime Street Station is Liverpool’s mainline station and all intercity services running from major towns and cities will arrive at this destination.

Lime Street is located in the heart of Liverpool City Centre and is a 5 minute walk from many of the Mathew Street events.

If you are travelling from afar, you can find more information on train travel on the National Rail website. If you want to travel by rail within Merseyside whilst you’re visiting the city, find out more on the Mersey Rail website.

British Transport Police proudly supports the Matthew Street Music Festival. Officers are not here to spoil the fun and to make sure that everyone has a great time we’d like to remind you that drinking alcohol on the Merseyrail network is prohibited on Sunday 30 August and Monday 31 August. We ask that passengers drink sensibly while at the festival and treat rail staff and passengers with respect.
